Allen Carr worked as a financial advisor until 1983, when after countless failed attempts to quit, he went from smoking sixty to a hundred cigarettes a day to none. He achieved this without suffering withdrawal symptoms, without needing willpower, and without gaining weight. He realized he had discovered what the world was waiting for: the easiest way to quit smoking. From then on, he decided he would help smokers around the world do the same.

His method reaped extraordinary success, making him considered the world's leading expert on quitting smoking. His network of clinics is present across the globe. In 1985, he wrote his first book, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, which has sold over fourteen million copies and has been published in more than forty languages. To this day, it remains a bestseller.
The brilliant method designed by Allen Carr has been successfully applied to weight control and various problems and addictions, such as those caused by alcohol, debt, gambling, or refined sugar, among others.
