Glen Cook is an American author of science fiction and fantasy. He began writing professionally while working for General Motors on an automobile assembly line. It was during this time that Cook wrote the first book of the "The Black Company" series, consisting of ten long novels and now considered a cult classic. Cook is also known for his two series, "Garret P.I." and "Dread Empire".
