«El día en que lo iban a matar, Santiago Nasar se levantó a las 5.30 de la mañana para esperar el buque en que llegaba el obispo.» Acaso sea Crónica de una muerte anunciada la obra más «realista» de Gabriel García Márquez, pues se basa en un hecho histórico acontecido en la tierra natal del escritor. Cuando empieza la novela, ya se sabe que los hermanos Vicario van a matar a Santiago Nasar -de hecho, ya le han matado- para vengar el honor ultrajado de su hermana Ángela, pero el relato termina precisamente en el momento en que Santiago Nasar muere. El tiempo cíclico, tan utilizado por García Márquez en sus obras, reaparece aquí minuciosamente descompuesto en cada uno de sus momentos, reconstruido prolija y exactamente por el narrador, que va dando cuenta de lo que sucedió mucho tiempo atrás, que avanza y retrocede en su relato y hasta llega mucho tiempo después para contar el destino de los supervivientes. La acción es, a un tiempo, colectiva y personal, clara y ambigua, y atrapa al lector desde un principio, aunque este conozca el desenlace de la trama. La dialéctica entre mito y realidad se ve potenciada aquí, una vez más, por una prosa tan cargada de fascinación que la eleva hasta las fronteras de la leyenda. Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014), son of the Colombian Caribbean and immortal voice of Spanish narrative, is one of the most influential literary minds of the 20th century. Winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982, his talent transcended the boundaries of paper: he was a novelist, short story writer, essayist, screenwriter, film critic, and above all, a thinker committed to the pains and hopes of his homeland and all of Latin America. Architect of magical realism, he masterfully wove the everyday and the fantastic, making reality blur among yellow butterflies, eternal rains, and towns where the impossible was part of everyday life. His work gave life to a unique narrative universe, where history breathes, dreams, and bleeds intensely.

Among his most emblematic titles are One Hundred Years of Solitude, No One Writes to the Colonel, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, The General in His Labyrinth, Love in the Time of Cholera, and Strange Pilgrims, among others. In 2002 he opened the door to his memory with Living to Tell the Tale. In 2012, All the Stories were published, and, as if literary destiny refused to close the curtain on him, in 2024 his posthumous and unpublished novel See You in August was released.

Me gusta mucho la calidad del libro en este formato, las páginas son de cierta calidad y es muy cómodo. Me llegó en un buen tiempo de entrega. Personalmente este libro no es mi favorito pero tiene partes que te tiene realmente enganchado. Para mí, algo confuso con algunas explicaciones.
