American author, Shelby Mahurin is known for her young adult works with a touch of fantasy. She grew up on a small farm in Indiana and it was there that she cultivated her great imagination, which she would eventually put on paper and turn into stories.

The idea to write her most famous saga, Witch Hunter, came from the Dames Blanches, creatures sometimes witches, sometimes spirits, from French folklore. From these mythological beings, she shaped the plot and characters of her novels.

In 2019, the first installment of the series, Witch Hunter: The White Witch, was released, with which Mahurin reached the second position on the New York Times bestseller list. Later, the second and third parts would be published, and they would be translated into other languages such as Spanish.
