Edmundo Paz Soldán (Cochabamba, 1967) is a prominent Bolivian writer, known for his contribution to contemporary Latin American narrative. PhD in Latin American Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, he has been a professor of Latin American Literature at Cornell University since 1997. His work includes novels, short stories, and essays, exploring themes such as technology, politics, and identity. He was awarded the National Novel Prize of Bolivia in 2003 for El delirio de Turing and the Juan Rulfo Short Story Prize in 1997 for "Dochera".

Among his most notable works are Río fugitivo (1998), Los vivos y los muertos (2009), Iris (2014), Los días de la peste (2017), La vía del futuro (2021), and La mirada de las plantas (2022). His literary style is associated with the McOndo movement, characterized by an urban and technological realism that contrasts with traditional magical realism.
