José Luis Velasco, born in Valencia, spent his childhood in Ciudad Real and his youth in Barcelona. He published more than forty books for both children and young adults as well as for adults. For this same collection, he wrote, under the pseudonym Samuel Bolín and in collaboration with Carmen Morales, two mystery books: «Los casos del comisario Antonino» and «Los nuevos casos del comisario Antonino». In the Paralelo Cero collection, he published his novel «Atrapado en la oscuridad». He was a finalist for the Alfaguara Novel Prize and the Gran Angular Prize for Youth Literature. He died in 1998.
