Antoni Segura i Mas (Barcelona, 1952) is a distinguished historian and emeritus professor of Contemporary History at the University of Barcelona. Specialized in geopolitics, international conflicts, and the Arab-Islamic world, he has been the president of the CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs) from 2017 to 2024. His most recent work, El món d’avui. De la guerra freda als reptes de la interdependència global (2023), is an extensive synthesis of over 1,200 pages on the evolution of the world order since 1945
Among his most notable publications are Más allá del islam (2001), Irak en la encrucijada (2003), Senyors i vassalls del segle XXI (2004), Euskadi: crònica d’una desesperança (2009), and Estados Unidos, el islam y el nuevo orden mundial (2013). He has also co-edited works such as The Fall of the USSR and its Aftermath (2018) and El interminable conflicto en Israel y Palestina (2018). His output falls within the genre of historical and political essay, with an analytical focus on contemporary global transformations.
