Santiago Posteguillo (Spain, 1967) is a novelist and philologist born in Valencia, specialized in historical fiction set in ancient Rome. He is the author of successful trilogies such as that of Scipio (Africanus, the Son of the Consul, The Accursed Legions, The Betrayal of Rome) and that of Trajan. His novel I, Julia won the Planeta Prize in 2018, consolidating his prestige as one of the leading authors of historical fiction in Spanish. In addition to his literary work, he is a university professor of English language and literature and has published numerous academic essays.
