Howard Chaykin (born October 7, 1950 in Newark, New Jersey) is a renowned American cartoonist and writer, famous for his innovative work in the comic book industry. Throughout his career, he has created and contributed to numerous notable works, including "American Flagg!" (1983), a science fiction series that made a significant mark on the genre. Additionally, he has worked on titles such as "Batman: Thrillkiller" (1997) and "Blade" (1998), expanding his influence in the comic book world.

Throughout his career, Chaykin has been recognized with several awards, including seven Eagle Awards and an Inkpot Award. His distinctive style and bold approach to tackling complex subjects have established him as an influential figure in contemporary graphic storytelling.

(California, 1960) American comic artist and writer. He published his first drawings in the fanzine The Comic Reader and made his professional debut in 1982 for Marvel as an inker. Later, he drew series such as Hulk and Alpha Flight for the same label. After a brief stint at the short-lived First Comics, in 1987 he moved on to collaborate with DC Comics illustrating miniseries like Superman and Batman. He returned to Marvel and worked on issues of Dr. Strange. In 1993, he created his most famous work for Dark Horse: Hellboy, whose first miniseries would be scripted by John Byrne but which he would end up doing as a complete author.
