Sergio Ruzzier, nacido en Milán en 1966, es un autor e ilustrador italiano-estadounidense dedicado principalmente a la literatura infantil ilustrada. Empezó su carrera profesional en 1986 como ilustrador en Italia y, en 1995, se trasladó a Nueva York donde trabajó para prestigiosas publicaciones internacionales, fortaleciendo su estilo personal.

Su obra destaca por series como Fox & Chick, que se ha convertido en un referente para primeros lectores por su combinación de humor, amistad y reflexión. Ruzzier fue seleccionado en 2011 para la prestigiosa Sendak Fellowship, lo cual consolidó su posición en el mundo de la ilustración infantil. Sus libros han sido reconocidos con premios como el Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor, que se otorga a obras destacadas para primeros lectores.
