Form Methods for Evolution Equations
Wolfgang Arendt (Author) · Springer Nature Switzerland · Hardcover
This book is devoted to the study of evolution equations via form methods. The theory is presented both in the language of Kato, with densely defined forms, and that of Lions, in the spirit of Gelfand triples. The book grew out of the Internet Seminar “Form Methods for Evolution Equations, and Applications” given by the authors.
A reader of the book merely needs basic knowledge in analysis, functional analysis and Lebesgue integration, as prerequisites.
Each of the 19 chapters is devoted to one particular subject and includes exercises. As a special feature, “interludes” are inserted in chapters where the material expands to other areas and applications, such as elements of operator theory or vector-valued holomorphic functions, so that complete proofs are given for all the material needed in the book.
