Shūzō Oshimi (押見 修造), born on March 19, 1981 in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, is a renowned Japanese mangaka. He debuted in 2001 with the work Superfly and has published numerous series in magazines of the Kodansha publishing house. His style is characterized by exploring the complexities of adolescence, identity, and human psychology, often through disturbing and provocative narratives.
Among his most notable works are Aku no Hana (The Flowers of Evil, 2009–2014), Boku wa Mari no Naka (Inside Mari, 2012–2016), Happiness (2015–2019), Chi no Wadachi (Blood on the Tracks, 2017–2023), and Okaeri Alice (Welcome Back, Alice, 2020–2023). Several of these series have been adapted into other media, including anime and live-action movies. In 2001, Oshimi received the Tetsuya Chiba Award for best new manga artist.
