El libro reúne 55 poemas en siete apartados temáticos que condensan el espíritu de la obra nerudiana, sus diversas épocas estilísticas y los temas que le preocupaban. Son los titulados “El amor”, “La poesía”, “El mar”, “El tiempo”, “Un espacio para los sentidos”, “La naturaleza en vuelo” y “Al final unas preguntas”.

La presente antología ha sido preparada por los poetas Gerardo Beltrán y Abel Murcia, conocidos en el ámbito de la poesía en español por ser los traductores de referencia de la premio Nóbel Wislawa Szymborska y otros poetas polacos contemporáneos. Las ilustraciones son obra de Adolfo Serra, que retrata a la perfección el torrente entusiasta y colorista que son los versos del poeta chileno.

Pablo Neruda (Parral, Chile, 1904 - Santiago, Chile, 1973), pseudonym of Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto, was one of the most influential and recognized poets of the 20th century. His extensive work ranges from passionate romanticism to political and social poetry. Among his most celebrated books are Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair, Canto General, and Residence on Earth. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1971, his poetry has been translated into numerous languages and remains one of the most prominent voices in Latin American literature.
