In the first installment of the Elsewhere Chronicles story, Noah, Theo, Max, and Rebecca discovered a passage to another world. But Rebecca has caught an incurable illness in that other world, and the kids must return there, even if it means facing off against the Master of Shadows. En el primer ciclo, los inseparables Noe, Teo y Máximo conocen a Rebeca, la nieta del recién difunto Padre Gab y la siguen hasta la casa del abuelo. Con el anochecer, el pájaro del viejo Gab les avisa de un peligro. Así es como se dan cuenta de que una sombra extraña les amenazaba en la oscuridad, una sombra hostil y agresiva. Los cuatro niños también hacen un descubrimiento extraño en aquella casa: un pasaje secreto, un pasaje hacia otro mundo. En el otro mundo, vivirán aventuras extraordinarias y se enfrentarán a sus propios miedos y temibles adversarios. En este nuevo ciclo, Rebeca está afectada por un mal incurable cuyo origen se encuentra en el otro mundo. Se verá obligada a volver al otro lado, guiada por el fantasma de Ilvanna y con la ayuda de Noe, Teo y Máximo. Allí se encuentran con un anciano de carácter difícil que parece conocer muy bien los secretos del otro mundo. Rebeca y sus compañeros de viaje retoman su periplo para enfrentarse al Amo de las Sombras.
