Born on May 20, 1949 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Studied Drama at the University of North Carolina. She has been president of the Author's Guild, the most relevant writers' association in the United States, for two years. For some time, she lived in Crete, a Greek island, where her interest in mythology emerged.
