Synopsis "multivariate analysis for the biobehavioral and social sciences: a graphical approach"

this book ` s approach is particularly valuable in those disciplines where mathematics is not a typical reader ` s primary focus, i.e. psychology, business, biology, education, sociology, etc.  the book is conceptual, and this does not intend mean that the mathematics of the methods are in any way compromised; rather, the mathematical developments are employed in the service of the conceptual basis for each method. the math is presented in an accessible form, called simplest case. the author seeks to demonstrate for each method the the simplest case that has all of the key attributes of the full blown case in actual practice. exercises are provided to allow readers to learn the simplified case thoroughly, after which the focus is expanded to more realistic cases.  in the author ` s many years of teaching multivariate analysis at the graduate level, it has become apparent that it is possible to make these complex mathematical concepts accessible and enjoyable, even to those readers who may see themselves as non-mathematical. it is possible with this simplest case approach to teach the underlying conceptual basis so thoroughly that readers can perform multivariate analyses on simple student accommodating datasets from memory, without formulas.
