Arturo Pérez-Reverte (Cartagena, Spain, in 1951) was a war reporter for twenty-one years and covered eighteen armed conflicts for newspapers and television, he is also a writer, known for his thrilling novels of adventure, history, and suspense. Before dedicating himself fully to literature, he worked for more than two decades as a war correspondent, an experience that deeply marked his narrative style. Among Arturo Pérez-Reverte's books are El capitán Alatriste, which started a successful series set in the Spanish Golden Age, La tabla de Flandes and El club Dumas, novels that mix erudition, intrigue, and action.
He has been a member of the Royal Spanish Academy since 2003, Pérez-Reverte is recognized for his agile prose, complex characters, and plots that combine historical rigor with a deep analysis of the human condition. His work has been translated into numerous languages and adapted into film, consolidating him as one of the most influential authors of contemporary Spanish literature.
