La nuestra, en cambio, aporta composiciones aparecidas en la prensa de los años veinte que nunca se recogieron en libros, así como inéditos conservados en manuscritos que solo han circulado en publicaciones especializadas. Nadie ha recopilado anteriormente estos materiales, que fueron apareciendo en los últimos treinta años, de manera que la edición de Debolsillo renovará considerablemente el conocimiento que se tiene hoy de la obrade Machado, con una introducción y notas que ponen en perspectiva la importancia de este clásico para el público actual. ENGLISH DESCRIPTION The Complete Poetry by Antonio Machado, now in a new edition by Víctor Fernández, with many unpublished poems and variations. Most of the editions of Machado's poetry are based on the one left by the author in the 1930s, with a few unpublished poems; but this one includes creations that appeared in the press of the 1920s and that were never compiled in books, as well as unpublished poems preserved in manuscripts that have only circulated in specialized publications. Nobody has previously compiled these materials that appeared over the last thirty years. Therefore, the Debolsillo edition will considerably renew today's knowledge of Machado's work, with the plus of an introduction and notes that will put the importance of this classic into perspective for today's public.

Antonio Machado Ruiz (Seville, July 26, 1875-Colliure, February 22, 1939) was a Spanish poet, the youngest representative of the Generation of 98. His early work, of a modernist style (like his brother Manuel's), evolved towards a symbolist intimacy with romantic features, which matured into a poetry of human commitment, on one hand, and contemplation of existence, on the other; a synthesis that in Machado's voice echoes the most ancestral popular wisdom. In the words of Gerardo Diego, "he spoke in verse and lived in poetry"

He was one of the distinguished students of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza (ILE), with whose ideals he was always committed. He died in exile in the agony of the Second Spanish Republic.
