Using an economic metaphor that situates black-white sex as a highly nuanced exchange of risk and reward, this qualitative work chronicles cross-racial sexual actors' talk to explore the notion that heterosexual performances of black-white sex in the US continue to be important and perilous sites of identity work for both blacks and whites in contemporary US culture.
