Thomas J. Stanley (1944 - February 28, 2015) was an American writer and business theorist, known for his studies on wealth in America. He earned a PhD in business administration from the University of Georgia and taught marketing at various universities, including the University of Tennessee and Georgia State University.

Among his most notable works is "The Millionaire Next Door" (1996), co-written with William D. Danko, which sold more than two million copies. Another relevant title is "The Millionaire Mind" (2000), where he delves into the characteristics and habits of American millionaires. Additionally, he published "The Next Millionaire Next Door" (2018), in collaboration with his daughter, Sarah Stanley Fallaw. His books focus on personal finance and wealth creation, based on thorough research into the habits and behaviors of millionaires.
