"The Double" is a novella by Russian novelist, essayist, short story writer, journalist, and philosopher Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1821 - 1881). The narrative deals primarily with the internal psychological struggle of the protagonist as he seemingly descends into madness.
