Henry B. Fried (1907–1996) was a renowned American watchmaker, author, and educator, considered one of the most influential figures in 20th century watchmaking. He worked for decades as a watch repairer and wrote extensively about the technique and art of watchmaking. He authored several classic books, such as The Watch Repairer's Manual, which are still used as references in watchmaker training. Fried also contributed articles to specialized magazines and was an instructor at the Horological Society of New York. His work helped standardize repair practices and preserve traditional knowledge of mechanical watchmaking. In recognition of his legacy, he was inducted into the National Watch and Clock Museum's Hall of Fame.
