Para ello deben atrapar al temible Misitu, el toro que recorre la puna alimentando su propia leyenda. Desde Lima llega la advertencia del Gobierno: la corrida sangrienta se prohíbe. Pero los indios no se resignaran a perder aquello por lo que llevan esperando todo el ano y que forma parte de sus propias tradiciones ancestrales. Ediciones del viento viene a recuperar con esta edición una de las novelas hispanoamericanas mas importantes del siglo pasado.

He authored novels and stories that have led him to be considered one of the great representatives of Peruvian literature. The critic Martin Seymour-Smith regards Arguedas as "the greatest novelist of our time", who wrote "some of the most powerful prose the world has ever known".
