Alex Ross
Nelson Alexander "Alex" Ross (Portland, January 22, 1970) is a prominent American writer and artist, known for his comic book illustrations that exhibit photographic realism. His style has been acclaimed for its ability to capture the mystical essence of superheroes, mainly collaborating with Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Additionally, he is the co-creator of the "Astro City" series, which explores the superhero myth.
Among his most notable works is "Marvels" (1994), a miniseries in collaboration with Kurt Busiek that offers a human perspective of the Marvel universe. Another notable work is "Kingdom Come" (1996), co-written with Mark Waid, which presents a dystopian future in the DC universe. For his work on "Kingdom Come," Ross received the Will Eisner Award in 1997. His realistic style has redefined the aesthetics of comics, consolidating him as an influential figure in the industry.
