Bettina Lemke is a journalist, writer, editor, and translator, graduated in North American Studies and Literature. Seventeen years ago, she left her job at a major publishing house in Munich to work freelance. She lived in Ireland for many years, where she fulfilled a dream of restoring a traditional stone farmhouse. Today, she is a prestigious author and editorial consultant, combining her passion for books with her interest in inner search and Eastern wisdoms. Her first book, “The Pocket Buddhist”, sold over eighty thousand copies. She stumbled upon the philosophy of ikigai while researching the topic of optimism, a transformative discovery that captivated her: she immediately wanted to explore the concept thoroughly and ended up writing this book, which has sparked international interest. Bettina Lemke lives between Munich and Ireland, which has become her second home.
