He combines his clinical work at the University Hospital of La Princesa in Madrid with teaching at CEU San Pablo University.
Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Nephrology (S.E.N.) and is the author of numerous scientific publications in his field.
Furthermore, he has ventured into narrative writing under the pseudonym Samuel Dacanda, with the novel Palliative, co-authored with Miguel Cobo and published by Rosamerón.
His most recent work, For my kidneys I eat well today: The incredible power of an organ yet to be discovered (released on October 16, 2024), is the result of an interdisciplinary project with Michelin-starred chef Miguel Cobo.
The book explores the central role of the kidney not only as a waste filter, but as a key organ in vital physiological functions, including the production of EPO and klotho protein, related to longevity.
With this work, Quiroga aims to bring to the general public recent discoveries about kidney function and its impact on health and quality of life, with a rigorous yet accessible approach.
