Héctor Abad Faciolince
Héctor Joaquín Abad Faciolince (Medellín, October 1, 1958) is a Colombian writer and journalist, known for his books Angosta, which won the best foreign novel award in China in April 2005, and El olvido que seremos, about the life and assassination of his father Héctor Abad Gómez, to which the Casa de América Latina in Portugal awarded the prize for the best Latin American work and the Wola-Duke Human Rights Award. He has also received a National Short Story Award, a National Novel Scholarship (1994) and two Simón Bolívar Opinion Journalism Awards (1998 and 2006). In 2016, he founded Angosta Editores, an independent publishing house in Colombia.
