Hesíodo
Hesiod was a Greek poet from Ancient Greece, born around the 8th century BC, in the region of Boeotia. He is mainly known for his two major works: Theogony, which narrates the origin of the gods and the cosmos, and Works and Days, a didactic work about peasant life, morality, and justice. Through his writings, Hesiod influenced Greek mythology and the moral vision of society. He is considered one of the first poets to use verse as a means to convey practical and religious wisdom. Although his exact life is little known, he is presented as a countryman, probably from a modest family, reflecting in his writings the daily hardships of agricultural work and teachings on virtue and effort.
