Kate Messner

Kate Messner is passionately curious and writes books for children who also wonder. Her award-winning titles include picture books like Over and Under the Snow and The Brilliant Deep; novels such as All the Answers, Breakout, and Chirp; engaging non-fiction works like The Next President and Tracking Pythons; the easy readers of Fergus and Zeke, the popular chapter books Ranger in Time, and the illustrated non-fiction series History Smashers. Before becoming a full-time writer, Kate was a TV news reporter and a middle school teacher. She lives on Lake Champlain with her family and is trying to reach the summit of the forty-six Adirondack High Peaks between book deadlines.
