Mariana Carbajal
Mariana Carbajal was born in Temperley. She holds a degree in Journalism (National University of Lomas de Zamora) and writes for Página/12. She was a pioneer in addressing gender issues that were invisible in the media. She is the author of Maltratadas: Gender Violence in Couple Relationships, Abortion in Debate: Contributions to a Pending Discussion, and I Believe You, Sister. For her press articles and her work on television about women's rights, she has received numerous awards, such as the Lola Mora Award for Career Achievement (2017) and the LASA Media Award 2022, given by the Latin American Studies Association. In 2022, she released the documentary film Judged Bodies. She also hosted the documentary series Us: Stories of Feminisms in Buenos Aires. She promoted the Ni Una Menos movement and has been part of the Red Par, Journalists of Argentina in Network for Non-Sexist Communication, since its inception. She teaches courses and workshops on journalism with a gender perspective and rights. Fired Up is her latest book, her most intimate and personal.
