Winner of the National Book Award for Short Stories City of Bogotá (Idartes) on two occasions (2008/2017), with the books Cruentos cruzados (Idartes) and The Murder of Edgar Allan Poe and other literary mysteries. Winner of the National Contest of Children's and Youth Literature, 2017, with the book Scary yet Beautiful Girls. Author of children's and youth books such as The Wolf Princess and the Painter (Planeta Lector), The Secret Diaries of the (In)complete Girls, Vladimir, the Vampire Boy, Embrace Your Fear, The Little Jekylls and Hydes, and The World Inside. In Mexico, he published Boris and the Stolen Book and in Peru the youth novel Trapped at the Airport. Other books include the biography Truman Capote: The Dark Hours and the informative text Serial Killers: Profiles of the Criminal Mind. His story "The Joker's Smile" is part of the anthology Stories and Tales of Colombian Literature Volume III.
