Synopsis "After All: A Collection of Poems and Essays About Life and Spirit"

"After All" captures the essence of the human experience through a collection of essays and poems. These 10 essays and 30 poems range in mood from sassy and humorous to reverent and deeply spiritual. Daryl uses his varied background to touch on a wide variety of subjects: down sizing, SCUBA diving at night in WWII ship wrecks, the donut like architecture of the universe, relationships, life, death, the cosmos, the experience of time, dying, and the meaning of life. A few of the poems and essays presented here incorporate the topics of war and reintegration, drawing on the author's experiences in the Vietnam War as a Marine on the front lines. Daryl Eigen had a stellar career as an engineer and executive in high tech communications. After retirement Daryl returned to his first love of writing. He is author of the well-received war memoir "A Hellish Place of Angels" that documented his time as a combat Marine in Vietnam.
