Amaya's Promise - Brinda Phokeerdass

Amaya's Promise

Leena has spent her life leaving-jobs, relationships, countries-before anything can take root. But when a cryptic message pulls her back to her dying grandmother in Mauritius, she discovers an island that is physically forgetting itself: wells running dry, roads shifting overnight, and a century-old promise that demands someone stay. As Leena unravels the journal of a girl named Amaya who walked into the sea and never returned, she must confront the ocean's ancient voice and decide: will she become the next sacrifice, or will she be the one who finally teaches a community to remember-together?
