Das Ameloblastom ist ein echtes Neoplasma odontogenen epithelialen Ursprungs. Es ist die zweithäufigste odontogene Neoplasie und wird nur vom Odontom in der Häufigkeit des Auftretens übertroffen. Ohne das Odontom ist die Inzidenz des Ameloblastoms mindestens so hoch wie die Inzidenz aller anderen odontogenen Neoplasmen zusammen.
