He studied at German universities and specialized in the work of Aristotle, to whom he dedicated much of his career. His most famous work is Aristotle: Founder of Scientific Philosophy, where he deeply analyzes Aristotle's contribution to science and philosophy.

Jaeger was also a prominent scholar, teaching at various institutions, including the University of Berlin, before emigrating to the United States in 1936 due to the Nazi regime. In America, he established himself as a professor at Harvard University, where he continued to develop his research on the Greek philosophical tradition.

His legacy endures in studies on Aristotle and the history of ancient philosophy.
