Rosella Postorino nació en 1978 en Reggio Calabria y creció en la Liguria, en el pintoresco pueblo de San Lorenzo al Mare. Desde los primeros años mostró una inclinación por las letras y, tras completar sus estudios en Ciencias Cognitivas en la Universidad de Siena, se trasladó a Roma, ciudad en la que vive y trabaja desde principios de los años 2000.

Inició su trayectoria pública en 2004 con un relato incluido en una antología colectiva, y en 2007 publicó su primera novela, La stanza di sopra, que le valió una candidatura significativa a un prestigioso premio literario. Con el tiempo, ha consolidado una carrera sólida con títulos como L’estate che perdemmo Dio (2009), Il corpo docile (2013) y el ensayo Il mare in salita (2011), mostrando una evolución narrativa caracterizada por la introspección y el análisis emocional.

Su obra más reconocida es Le assaggiatrici (publicada en inglés como At the Wolf’s Table), que recibió numerosos galardones nacionales e internacionales y fue traducida a decenas de idiomas. Además de su actividad como novelista, ha trabajado como editora, traductora —especialmente de textos de Marguerite Duras— y colaboradora en medios culturales. Su novela más reciente, Mi limitavo ad amare te (2023), fue finalista de un renombrado premio literario italiano.
