Emily Nagoski is a sexual educator and American author, known for her scientific and accessible approach to female sexuality. She earned her PhD in Health Behavior with a specialization in Human Sexuality at Indiana University, where she also completed a master's in Educational Counseling. Before fully dedicating herself to writing and dissemination, she was the director of Wellness Education at Smith College.

Her most influential book, Come as You Are (2015), explores the science behind sexual desire, challenging common myths about female sexuality. Nagoski introduces concepts such as the "brakes" and "accelerator" of desire, emphasizing that the emotional and physical context is crucial for the sexual response. The work has been acclaimed for its accessible and empathetic tone, becoming a reference in sexual education.

In 2019, she co-wrote Burnout with her sister Amelia Nagoski, addressing stress and burnout from a scientific and feminist perspective. The book offers strategies for managing stress and completing the "stress cycle," especially in women facing social and work pressures.

Her most recent work, Come Together (2024), delves into how couples can build and maintain lasting sexual connections, prioritizing pleasure and communication over frequency or performance.

In addition to her books, Nagoski maintains an active presence on social media, where she shares educational resources and reflections on sexuality, well-being, and mental health.
