Synopsis "Come Home. Brown Book Series"

Entering the Rural farming world of the early twentieth, the reader will follow two families who are sharecroppers on Maryland's Easternshore as they face the hardships of that time. Strong love binds each of these families with deep respect for the parents. These families must face the disease and illnesses which ravaged the rural communities during this time with little pharmaceuticals to cure or prevent. Those who avoid the Grim Reaper must harden themselves to face the next set of obstacles, One of the two families struggle with their losses and George Brown will find himself alone as a Senior in high school with a crop in the field to be harvested. How he finds his way to being an adult is an adventure in perseverance, dangerous hard work and romance, all the while living in the shadow of his heroic older brother of World War I, Jerome. The reader will also follow the exploits of Jerome through his entry into the first set of Volunteers of the US Army, into the major battles in WW1.
The reader will meet Maude Price, a teenager of a sharecropper family, who catches the eye of George Brown. We watch her grow up into a woman and the courting of her by George Brown. George's courting is filled with respect and restrained but an impatient teenager tests George's restraint, while his career in farming must transition into the world of shipping. George's personality is shaped by his personal losses. A man who had closed his emotions to the world must open himself to love or risk losing Maude.
