Esta antología explora, con el lenguaje del cómic, la fuerza gráfica de tres relatos de Horacio Quiroga: «A la deriva», en el que se retrata la lucha de un hombre que navega el río Paraná tras ser mordido por una serpiente; «La gallina degollada», historia trágica de una familia cuya descendencia maldita cometerá un crimen imperdonable; y «El almohadón de plumas», que narra la agonía de una joven que padece una enfermedad indescifrable. Estos cuentos, convertidos en viñetas, invitan a conocer el universo del autor uruguayo y sus temas recurrentes, los cuales lo convirtieron en un referente infaltable de la literatura latinoamericana: la soledad de la selva, la angustia de la existencia y la proximidad de la muerte.

His stories, which often portray nature with terrifying and horrific features, and as an enemy of human beings, earned him comparisons to the American Edgar Allan Poe. He is the author of Jungle Tales, The Coral Reefs, and Anaconda.
