HANSTEIN (1880) versuchte den im Innern des Cytoplasmas beobachteten Dif'ferenzierungen dadurch Rechnung zu tragen, daB er ein auReres, zaheres H y a lop I a sma oder E k t- p I a sma von einem inneren, leichter beweglichen, mit Mikrosomen aus- gestatteten Ene h y I e m a oder End 0 p I a sma unterschied. Von seiten der Zoologie wurde ebenfalls der mikroskopischen Morpho- logie schon friihzeitig Interesse zugewandt. Wahrend die alteren Forscher das Cytoplasma als eine mehr oder weniger homogene Masse ansahen, in deren Inneren kleinste Kornmen, die Mikrosomen, als Einschliisse auf- ireten, wurden gegen das Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts die bekannten Struk- turtheorien des Plasmas aufgestellt, denen im weiteren VerIauf der Ent- wicldung der Cytologie fast allgemein lediglich historisches Interesse ge- zollt wurde.
