English summary: This second volume in the series Proszenium: Studies in the Historical Study of the Theatrical Audience, has two central aspects: analysis and an offering of primary sources. The documentary section offers edited sources from the history from the 18th and early 19th century, which offers detailed information about the performance of stage actors and actresses and materially attests to the serious discussions, led by literary and theatrical journals, over the role and meaning of the audience. The two essays in the preceding analytical section undertake an initial evaluation of the source material and clarify that the historical study of the audience is an integral part of the cultural history of the theater. German description: Der zweite Band der Reihe "Proszenium. Beitrage zur historischen Theaterpublikumsforschung" hat zwei Schwerpunkte: einen Analyse- und einen Quellenteil. Im Dokumentationsteil werden Quellen zur Theatergeschichte des 18. und fruhen 19. Jahrhunderts ediert, die nahere Auskunft uber das Verhalten von Buhnenzuschauerinnen und -zuschauern geben und die in Theater- und Literaturjournalen heftig gefuhrte Diskussion uber die Rolle und die Bedeutung des Publikums materialreich belegen. Die beiden Beitrage im vorangestellten Analyseteil nehmen eine erste Auswertung der Quellenergebnisse vor und verdeutlichen, dass die historische Theaterpublikumsforschung ein integraler Bestandteil der kulturwissenschaftlichen Theaterhistorie ist.
