Synopsis "Der Bürger und das Establishment: Theorie und Praxis (in German)"

Das Buch bietet dem Leser zwei neue Perspektiven auf die Interaktion zwischen dem Volk (Zivilisten/Nicht-Zivilisten) und dem Staat. Erstens enthält es eine Typologie von fünf Optionen, die die Menschen als Antwort auf eine Einrichtungspolitik wählen können (Zentralregierung, Institutionenmanagement). Die Optionen sind: Separatismus, Gleichgültigkeit, Identität, Protest und Gewalt. Zweitens werden drei Fallstudien aus drei Ländern (Ägypten, Bolivien, Burkina Faso) analysiert, in denen der Protest gegen ein amtierendes Regime von Sicherheitskräften ausging. Dabei handelt es sich nicht um einen Militärputsch, sondern um ein Protest-Establishment, im Gegensatz zu der in den Forschungscouches allgemein akzeptierten Annahme, dass die Quelle des Protests au erhalb des Establishments liegt. Beide Abschnitte weisen eine Kombination aus Theorie und Praxis auf.
