Deseo y conflicto pone sobre la mesa algunas de las consecuencias de estos fenómenos ante la creciente digitalización de la vida pública y privada. Hace énfasis en problemas contemporáneos del feminismo y desenmascara el mal uso de muchas de estas prácticas que retumban como correctivo social y busca su resignificación y reconfiguración dentro del marco político. De igual forma, hace una crítica a las estructuras heteronormativas y patriarcales.

Marta Lamas, anthropologist and activist in the feminist movement since 1971. Founder of Debate Feminista magazine, the Information Group on Chosen Reproduction (gire) and the Simone de Beauvoir Leadership Institute. Ethnologist from the National School of Anthropology and History, she holds a PhD in Anthropology from the Institute of Anthropological Research of the unam. She is a full-time senior researcher at the unam's Center for Gender Studies and Research and coordinator of the university seminar Modernity: versions and dimensions. She is a member of the National System of Researchers. She has authored eleven books and compiled five, along with over 150 published essays. Her most recent book is Pain and Politics: Feeling, Thinking, and Speaking from Feminism (2021).
