An dieser Stelle setzt die Untersuchung an: Es wird eingehend die Rolle der Finanzierungsalternative Venture Capital im Innovationssystem und deren Rückwirkungen auf die Innovations- und Beschäftigungsperformance der (deutschen) Volkswirtschaft analysiert. Ziel ist es, die Relevanz von Venture Capital für Innovation und Beschäftigung zu klären und durch empirische Studien zu quantifizieren. Die empirische Untersuchung erfolgt dabei auf der OECD-Ebene, um sicherzustellen, dass die Ergebnisse auch im internationalen Kontext ihre Relevanz zeigen. Die Arbeit schlie t mit wirtschaftspolitischen Empfehlungen für den deutschen Venture-Capital-Markt.
