Das Nachspiel verklingt, ein Beifall bricht aus, so stürmisch, da Wagner sich erheben und vom Pult aus danken mu , wobei er zu den nächstsitzenden Musikern meint: "Mir kommt vor, es gefällt dem Publikum noch besser, wenn ich NICHT dirigiere!"
