Synopsis "Documenting for Sudan: Min Ajl Altawthiq Lilsudan (in Arabic)"

Navigating sequential historical eras, this book narrates events that are on the verge of being forgotten. It begins by shedding light on individuals whose stories began before joining the Mahdist revolution and becoming in the midst of great events that still cast their shadows over our reality today. It then tells the story of the following generation from within the events that occurred in Sudan in their time and they were at its core. Beginning with the 1950s, the book addresses the story of independence, the coup of November 1958 and the takeover of power by the military. It then recounts the struggle against the military rule that culminated in the October Revolution 1964 and the restoration of democracy, which was soon aborted by the coup of May 1965 consequent to which the writer and his colleagues suffered numerous, long imprisonments. It then touches on the April 1985 revolution, upon which the country lived another democratic experiment that was also aborted by the June 1989 coup. The book also includes the texts of the memoranda exchanged between Imam Al-Siddiq Al-Mahdi and the military council headed by General Abboud. The names of detainees in different events during May's era are also included, as well as verbal statements about different situations as expressed by many individuals who passed away and to whom the writer was close
