Enzensberger war begeistert und verffentlichte das kurze Prosagedicht im Kursbuch. Darin verdichtet Johnson seine Beobachtungen ber das Leben in der amerikanischen Metropole - "Gelb wohin du blickst". Diese Farbe, Sinnbild fr Stadtlicht und soziale Brche, wird zum Leitmotiv seiner Reflexion ber Rassismus, Gewalt, Krieg und Identitt. Der Knstler Matthias Dettmann verwandelt den Text in 20 zweifarbige Siebdrucke, die Johnsons Themen in die Gegenwart holen. Auch hier wird die Farbe Gelb zum zentralen Motiv.
