David Fernández Sifres, born in León in 1976, is an author of children's and young adult literature known for his ability to combine exciting stories with educational values.

His literary career began with award-winning short stories, the prizes from which he often used to travel. In 2008, he published his first children's novel, "¡Que viene el Diluvio!". Since then, he has accumulated several recognitions, such as the Alandar Youth Literature Award 2011 for El faro de la mujer ausente and the Ala Delta Children's Literature Award 2012 for Un intruso en mi cuaderno. His most notable work, "Luces en el canal" (2013), earned him the prestigious El Barco de Vapor Award for its message about the importance of looking beyond appearances. More recently, he has published "¡Que vienen los zombis!" (2023) and Don Yata. "El secreto del árbol" (2024), continuing his legacy in children's and young adult literature.
