Javier Martínez-Brocal (Granada, Spain, 1978) is a journalist and has been covering the Vatican since the last years of Pope John Paul II's pontificate. He has accompanied Benedict XVI and Francis on many of their travels around the world. He has reported on the daily life of the popes at Rome Reports agency and in media outlets in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. He is currently the Vatican correspondent for the newspaper ABC and La Sexta.

He is the author of The Pope of Mercy (2015) and The Vatican as You've Never Been Told (2018), both titles published by Planeta.
