María Menéndez-Ponte, born in A Coruña, is a prominent Spanish writer specializing in children's and young adult literature. She began her Law studies at the University of Santiago de Compostela and, after living five years in New York, graduated from the UNED. Later, she earned a degree in Hispanic Philology in Madrid. Her passion for writing was ignited by creating stories and adventures for her four children, leading her to develop a prolific literary career

Among her most recognized works is "Nunca seré tu héroe" (1998), a young adult novel that achieved Gold Book status in 2006 by surpassing 100,000 copies sold. For her outstanding career, Menéndez-Ponte was awarded the Cervantes Chico Prize in 2007. She is also the author of the popular children's series "Pupi", which has captivated numerous young readers.
